Tuesday Tech Tip: Suggestions for Setting Up the Gradebook in Schoology

As we're gearing up for the 2015-2016 school year, it's a good time to think about setting up our gradebooks.  We use PowerSchool as a Student Information System (or SIS), so that means that we need to give some attention to another spot where we may be collecting grades:  Schoology, our Learning Management System.

For the basics, Schoology's support area has a great article on how to use it, but some of the information doesn't apply to our situation.  So, we've put together some recommendations for our schools as they look at the new school year.  (If you need to enlarge the presentations embedded below, use the full screen icon, which is next to the settings wheel.)

Remember that with mastery, the best way to gather student data related to standards is to align items in Schoology.  However, the gradebook is another area you can leverage to collect and analyze student data.

If you need an overview of what the set-up screen looks like, see the embedded ThingLink below (click on the Schoology icons to see more information).
